We're excited to share a fun internal project – our RVA Transit Posters!
We were lucky enough to find an old 1950s-60s-70s (?) bus roll sign on Craig's List a few years back, and with the help of our 2016 summer interns, Sarah and Aaron, we've figured out a way to share it's RVA coolness.
Each route is a trip through Richmond's past and present – 17th Street, Byrd Park, Riverview, and even Parker Field!
We've painstakingly photographed, color-corrected, and reassembled the entire roll digitally, leaving a lot of the original stains, scratches, and character intact, while significantly standardizing the colors. We're offering hand-picked segments from the roll, as well as custom sizes and lengths. See the full roll here.
A typophile's dream, the roll features a beautiful institutional grotesque sans serif face in multiple weights, sizes and tracking. The posters are starkly graphic in their spot color palette of black, white and red.
The first round of posters come in 3 sizes: 11"W x 17"H, 18"W x 24"H, and original size – 28"W x 40"H. Heights vary slightly based on the cropping of the route names.
