ah, the irony . . . Chris is currently the Acting Fraud Chief here in sunny Chennai, which means that he gets to deal with all of the very complicated and potentially fraudulent cases that come through the place. This is a very time-consuming job that takes a lot of effort. I think that he's very good at it. As part of this job, he recently went to Hyderabad to do a very large number of fraud investigations that required actual Sherlock Holmes action. So he and his fraud colleague spent the better part of three days driving around the city to the locations in question and doing their investigations. Because he did not want for his wedding ring to fall off somewhere in Hyderabad, as it was a little bit too large, he left it in his hotel room (or so he CLAIMS). And somebody stole it. Ha! He was there to investigate fraud and his wedding ring was stolen right out of the hotel! I actually think that it may be more likely that someone threw it out, thinking that it was . . . oh, I don't know . . . an old washer? To an Indian, a titanium ring would certainly not look like jewelry. But I guess we'll never know. He complained, but to no avail. We were ordering him another one anyway, because it didn't fit properly, so it's no big loss. But it's a funny story.
