pondicherry; land of the OTHER kind of frogs

Pondicherry is a place in India. It is a former French colony that was settled in the early 18th century. Located on the coast of the Bay of Bengal, it is a mere 2-hour drive south of Chennai. It is a lovely, sleepy beach resort town, where one can eat French food, of all things, and lounge on the beach wall at sunset. We went for the long weekend, which we were granted by the Indian holiday of Ayudha Pooja.
