Our House, In The Middle

I love our house. We live directly between the neighborhoods of Akasaka and Roppongi, which is one of the more posh places that one can live in Tokyo. In recent years, the US was offered US $16 Billion dollars for the land that houses us. That’s a lot of dough.

We live in an apartment in one of three apartment towers on the first and second floors. Our windows all look out on a large Japanese pond and we are located in one of the more remote corners of the building. There is a waterfall directly outside the master bedroom window. It is quite lovely.

Downstairs, we have a large living room, a dining room that we have turned into a family room, our kitchen, and a small utility room. We also have a pretty large balcony with plants, a Weber Kettle, and a table with two chairs. Upstairs, we have our room and the master bathroom, which Max and I share. Max has his own room that looks out onto the pond so that he can see the koi and feed the ducks in the spring. And we have a guest room/TV room and Chris’ bathroom. It is a very nice place and I love it.

Here is the view from our bedroom window in fall and from the balcony in winter:
