mysore, karnataka Mysore is a city of about 750,000 located in the Indian state of Karnataka. Until Independence in 1947, it was the seat of the Wodeyars, the maharajas for the princely state of Mysore, which was a large area known for its production of silk, sandalwood, and incense. We went there because it is reputed to be extremely charming. Also, there was a train that went there and we got on it.
