blended vs. single malt

This evening we went to a Johnnie Walker whiskey-tasting event, which is a thing that both Chris and I have done before. It is always fun to get some whiskey education and 'tis even more fun to drink some “samples”. I was, as I had been on previous occasions, extremely impressed by the speaker's knowledge and expertise. Those folks at Johnnie Walker sure do know how to train their people, what with making them live on the Isle of Skye for three years and all. I wouldn't mind applying for that program. If they give financial aid, of course.

But just as happened last time, all I walked away with was a firm conviction that blended whiskey is OK, as whiskies go, but that I'll take a single-malt like Talisker any day of the week. Thank you very much.
