hanami April in Japan means one thing and one thing only: cherry blossoms! The blooming and subsequent dying of the sakura flowers is an important festival season. Hanami, the act of cherry flower viewing, is a national pastime. We went to a park in Shinjuku where we had a huge picnic with our friends and (after much beer, wine, and sake) with the huge extended Japanese family picnicking next to us. It was loads of fun. | ||
