random memories

I have a very distinct memory of one of my ex-boyfriends wearing earplugs , but I'll be damned if I can remember which one it was. There are only three of them, but I can't quite pin the image down.

Ex #1, when we first moved to New York from Virginia, couldn't sleep with all of the traffic noise on 3rd Avenue. Did he wear earplugs to bed?

Ex #2/#4 (long story) was a musician. Did he wear earplugs to concerts, maybe? Or in the studio?

Ex #3 never actually wore earplugs, I don't think, but I have some fuzzy image of him doing so. Maybe it is a representative memory? Symbolizing the fact that he couldn't stand to hear 98% of the things that came out of my mouth and never listened to a word I said?

Maybe they all wore earplugs.
