money, burning holes in our pocketses.

Over Indian Independence Day weekend (India threw off the British yoke on 15 August, 1947), we went to Pondicherry with Brooke and the two newest arrivals here in Chennai. It was fun and relaxing, as usual. There was a really wonderful little carnival going on and there were all sorts of street vendors set up around the main temple. We relaxed, walked around, sweated a lot, and just generally enjoyed our free time. We also saw a magic show that I will never forget. No matter how hard I try to.

However, one extraordinary thing did occur, and that is that we finally bought the things. BOTH of the things. Chris has been in love with the very same desk since the first time we went down to Pondicherry 10 months ago. And we finally bought it. It is sitting right here next to me as I type this. We have also both been in lust with a teak bar that is very, very rad. It is of a style that is common here, but I love it particularly because it looks very deco, which makes me happy. We bought that too. We are very spoiled.

You can see them, if you are so inclined.
