poor, poor ambassador

One day earlier this month, as usual, Rajendran left the house at about 4:30pm to pick Christopher up from work. On their way home, they both noticed quite suddenly that the car smelled not unlike an electrical fire. Concerned, they pulled over and looked under to hood to discover if something might be very wrong. There was no smoke bellowing forth, so they closed the hood and continued home, the smell still fairly evident.

Next morning, right after taking Chris to work, Rajendran set out to get the car looked at by a professional in order to ascertain what might have caused the offending smell (yes, Rajendran takes care of these things . . . it is part of a driver's job to care for the maintenance of the car . . .). In his estimation, it would take about two or three hours and cost about rs 300.

Seven hours later, he drives up, smiling. Apparently, the problem was a little more serious than any of us had anticipated. He handed me a bill for rs 700 and he also handed me this, what remained of what

used to be our car's electrical system.

Now, having such a problem is quite scary and, looking at these internal electrical parts, you may laugh. But, it is truly a wonderful thing that the Ambassador can experience a problem this severe and be fixed in one day for about $17. And she's running just fine, by the way.
